National Grid claims pipeline will connect more customers

For some in West Roxbury eager to connect to a natural gas line, they may find the process a challenge. Officials with National Grid say there is a demand for natural gas service in West Roxbury and surrounding towns. But, according to John Stavrakas, acting vice president of gas asset management at the utility company, the current system cannot supply the gas pressure to connect some additional customers.

Company that worked on Westwood Library was denied certification in 2008

The construction company that built the Westwood Main Library was denied certification on two separate occasions, according to documents from the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM). In 2008, TLT Construction of Wakefield was de-certified by the state agency for a period of 18 months, and re-certified after that. According to documents provided to the Westwood Press, the company failed to provide required information in its bidding proposals, and instead gave “incomplete, false, and misleading information.” The company was de-certified again in 2013, and has yet to be re-certified.
