Max Bowen

I've worked in nearly every aspect of the newspaper business, from freelance reporter through editor. Experienced in working with and training writers, web site updates and social media. I have years of experience in building and improving newspapers by making new connections, training local reporters and recruiting columnists to write on a variety of subjects.

I support my staff, showing them how best to improve and working with them to develop their skills. I am used to working with limited resources, and know how to use what I have available to deliver the best product. I have experience working with new writers and college/high school interns.

In addition, I'm a radio producer and host of my own program, Citywide Blackout. Citywide Blackout is the home for Boston’s local entertainment. Max Bowen and Matt Zappa feature the city's musicians, filmmakers, authors, event organizers, comedians and much more. New episodes air every Thursday at 8 p.m. on WEMF Radio.
